[Livre] Catching the Big Fish (David Lynch)

Editions Tarcher/Penguin

Anger and depression and sorrow are beautiful things in a story, but they’re like poison to the filmaker or artist.

« Keep your eye on the doughnut, not on the hole. » If you keep your eye on the doughnut and do your work, that’s all you can control. You can’t control any of what’s out there, outside yourself.

There’s an ocean of consciousness inside each of us, and it’s an ocean of solutions.

And it should be fun. In work and in life, we’re all supposed to get along. We’re supposed to have so much fun, like puppy dogs with our tails wagging. It’s supposed to be great living; it’s supposed to be fantastic.
